After vacationing on Omaron, to visit with her sister, Jillian is returning to Earth in General Jonnar's spaceship when they are attacked by an enemy that should have been in prison, but must have escaped. They evade the attack through a wormhole and crash-land on a volcanic rocky planet. The first thing Jonnar realizes is that Jillian is in bad shape. The elder on board says she's dying. The only way to save her is to transfer some of Jonnar's life's force/essence to her. There is one side effect - she'll become pregnant, and the elder will diie, because the procedure usually takes three people to perform, but this is something he will gladly do - as will Jonnar. Anything to keep Jillian alive! Jillian improves, but is upset that she's pregnant. The ship needs work but before Jonnar can begin to work on it they are attacked by pirates, who had also crashed onto the planet. One of the pirates is the same species as Jonnar (Dava), while the rest have rat-like tales which are full of poison. Since their ship was destroyed, they let the two Dava men use parts to repair the one salvageable ship to return to Omaron. Jonnar knows the pirates plan to kill him & Jillian but he has other plans. The entire time they are working on repairing the ship the planet's volcanic activity is increasing, becoming more violent and unstable. As repairs come to a point where Jonnar feels the ship is safe to fly, the pirates attack, and he's ready. The planet helps at the last minute, dropping the rat pirates into fissures that have opened up. Jonnar puts the Dava pirate (who was stabbed twice with the poison tails) and Jillian in stasis (protective sleep) for the flight back to Omaron. But, before the battle between Jonnar and the pirates, and the planet's eruption, both Jonnar and Jillian have admitted to themselves that they loved the other person. Jonnar, however, having grown up on the streets, feels he's not a good person, even though he's the top General in the King's service. His real dream, however, is to design and build spacecraft. He just has to get them all back home, and break the news to his king. When they return to Omaron, Jonnar waits two days before approaching Jillian (he had things to clear up first). The first thing he did was tell her his background - she made sure he knew she felt he was her and their child's protector, not a violent killer, but a strong defender. Once she cleared that up, they were both able to open up about their love for one another.Product details

I have to say this is one of the many books of this author that l have read and WOW. I read the first Alien kings baby and knew that this one would not disappoint. It's a different take on the alien,baby making,but the chemistry between the character are wonderful, just wondering, where can l find one...
I guess I'M addicted to romance between Alien hunks and Human women. They tend to tread Humans better than our own species. This book was really good had a great story line and a super happy ending. As long as Shea Mallory can keep my attention with her books I will add her to my must reads. I think anyone would like this book I'd recomend it.
This was another great addition to the series!
The interaction between Jillian + Jonnar was so cute + sexy at the same time.
In order to save Jillian's life, Jonnar used his essence to strengthen Jillian's life force.
That is how they impregnate their mates. The males of the species share transfer some of their essence.
Great storytelling!

I am on number 3 I am 69% done with it and within the first day of reading the first book I read the first two books and then the first half of the third one already super fun to read I like how they get to the point and there's not a lot of long overdrawn descriptions of everything it's good and action-packed too
While fun to read, again the author rushed the middle and end. Just when you get to know the characters and their fears there is quick rush with plausible reasoning on why it finishes too quickly. I understand that these are oversized novellas. My issue is with how tied a bow the ends are. It leaves me wanting how weak the ending is.
Jonnar was a highly regarded general, who had a way with woman. He never expected to fall for his Queen's sister but he had. Fighting it all the way until he had to make a choice for her to survive. Jillian was flabbergasted and disgusted with the General revolving door! The insufferable man who is highly decorated has to be Hers!! Catching the dog with another woman crushes her. When Jonnar and an elder chose her life she is mortified and elated... she is pregnant!!! But that was just the beginning....if you love sci-fi you will love this book!
It was long enough to flesh out the characters and develop the storyline. This book was much better developed and more interesting. To be honest I almost didn't buy the first book because of the title and short length, but I did for some reason. Normally I would have past by, I'm glad I didn't. If I had skipped past the first for reasons stated, I would of course not bought this one. As with the first book, I do not like the title, much of the plot is given away before the first page is read. It's a given the h and H will end up together with minimum mishap so worrying about part of the plot is out the window. I imagine the next book will be about the remaining sister and if it follows the overall plot that one will be very similar to the first two ...
